- Computers & specificationsNAND flash
A type of rewritable, nonvolatile semiconductor memory that retains stored data without continuous power, widely used inside storage devices. In 3D NAND, memory cells are arranged in stacked layers. Layer count describes that structure; bits per cell describes how much information each cell holds. A finished device also needs control and interface functions.

Network-attached storage: a system that provides shared file storage over a network. A NAS can hold working files, receive backups, or do both, depending on its configuration. Plan user access, usable capacity and recovery separately; files whose only copy lives on the NAS still need an independently recoverable backup.

Network Address Translation: rewriting IP address information as traffic passes between networks. A common form also translates transport ports so several devices can share one external IPv4 address. Translation determines how addresses are mapped; firewall rules separately determine which traffic is permitted. Trace both functions when diagnosing a connection.

Computational methods for working with human language in text or speech. Tasks include recognizing structure, extracting information and generating language; useful performance depends on the task and evaluation.

Network equipment manufacturer: a company that makes equipment used in communications networks. The term describes a supplier role rather than a particular protocol or performance level.
Related coverage: Gigabit Ethernet Test Equipment
Link to this term- NetworksNetwork edge
A boundary where users, devices or other networks connect to the network being described. Its location depends on the scope of the diagram or service under discussion.
Link to this term- NetworksNFC
Near-field communication: short-range wireless communication used when compatible devices or tags are brought close together. Payments, identification and tag reading use different application and security arrangements.

Network service provider: an organization supplying network connectivity or related services. A service description should identify its coverage, handoff and responsibilities.
Related coverage: Gigabit Ethernet Test Equipment

NVM Express: a protocol and specification family for communicating with nonvolatile storage. In a typical client SSD, NVMe commands travel over PCIe; M.2 describes a physical module format. Check the host’s supported protocol and interface as well as the drive’s dimensions. NVMe also has transport specifications for networked storage.
