Vyyo today announced that China Telecommunications Broadcast Satellite Corporation (ChinaSat) has deployed Vyyo's wireless broadband solution in Haikou, the capital of Hainan.
Located in the southern Chinese island of Hainan, Haikou is the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of the province. The system was installed by Wuhan Research Institute (WRI), one of Vyyo's system integrators.
"Vyyo continues to record growth milestones in China," stated Michael Corwin, president and chief operating officer. "Our relationship with WRI has yielded yet another telecom operator deployment, as well as expanded the areas that we serve. Using our solution, ChinaSat seamlessly rolled out wireless broadband access in the island of Hainan. We believe this is just the beginning of our relationship with ChinaSat and our high quality solutions will lead to additional deployments."

China Telecommunications Broadcast Satellite Corporation (ChinaSat) was founded in 1985, and was the first state-owned enterprise to manage telecommunications satellite business and provide satellite telecommunications broadcast services in China. Now it is under the leadership of the Ministry of Information Industry, the People's Republic of China.
