Lanier Worldwide, Inc. today announced the arrival of the Lanier LF510 and LF515e Document Communications Systems, two high-speed systems that combine traditional fax functionality with new tools and technologies that enhance productivity, reduce communications costs and make it easy to distribute documents over phone lines, local area networks and the Internet. Both systems are available immediately.

"To meet the demands of the average business user, today's fax systems need to be faster, more versatile and more cost-efficient than ever before," said Dominic Pontrelli, vice president of Marketing for Lanier. "That's why we are bringing the Lanier LF510 and LF515e Document Communications Systems to market. In terms of business-class faxing, the LF510 and LF515e are among the industry's elite. In addition, they provide next-generation features that can significantly improve the efficiency of document distribution, whether in conventional high-volume applications or more flexible, Web-based fax environments."

The Lanier LF515e is the ultimate document communications hub for large corporate departments. Its standard features allow users to accomplish a wide variety of tasks, including high-speed faxing, high-resolution scanning, full-color scanning, document routing, PC faxing and Internet faxing.

The Lanier LF510 is the right fax system for traditional high-volume applications. It provides the rugged reliability that banks, law firms, pharmacies and other organizations need to send and receive hundreds or thousands of pages every day, without interruption.

Standard features on both systems include:

Powerful Internet Fax Options

With its built-in NIC/FAX card, the LF515e provides three quick, affordable ways to deliver documents via LANs, WANs and the Internet. Users can use scan-to-email to send scanned documents -- including TIF image files, full-color PDF and JPEG files -- to any email address or any other Internet-capable fax machine, while incurring zero long-distance costs.

For more advanced Internet faxing, the LF515e can send documents over an Internet Protocol (IP) network infrastructure. Using the worldwide Standard ITU T.38 IP Communications Protocol, the LF515e sends faxes directly to the IP address of compatible fax machines on your LAN or WAN.

"IP faxing is magnitudes faster than any other available technology," Pontrelli said. "In fact, the transmission is virtually instantaneous. That's a tremendous benefit in today's fast-paced business world -- especially when you need to transmit files that only exist in hardcopy form."

To extend IP faxing outside the LAN, the LF515e can also use a special VOIP (Voice Over IP) Gateway to use IP faxing and communicate with conventional fax machines. In other words, the LF515e can send documents to any fax number without using regular telephone lines.

"With the VOIP option, organizations can eliminate the practice of dedicating telephone extensions to fax systems, as well as eliminate charges for sending long-distance faxes," Pontrelli said.
