Singers and actresses Hilary and Haylie Duff hosted the Gillette Venus Divine Legs of a Goddess contest in New York's Times Square today, part of a nationwide search to find the woman with the best legs in America, hosted by the new Venus Divine razor for women.
An 18-year-old Jacksonville, Florida woman won in front of celebrity judges who were looking for women with shapely and toned legs, and a confident and enthusiastic attitude.
"We're thrilled to work with Hilary and Haylie Duff to bring the 'Legs of a Goddess' contest to New York, home to women with some of the most beautiful legs in the country," said Nancy Teumer, Business Director, Women's Shaving, The Gillette Company. "The contest, now in its second year, helps women reveal their inner and outer beauty, and feel like a goddess ... just like they do when they use Venus Divine."
Women competed for cash and a Venus Divine prize package, plus the chance to become the national, grand prize winner. The national winner of the Legs of a Goddess contest will receive a Goddess Giveaway valued at $30,000, which includes: a Venus Divine-inspired sapphire and diamond necklace from premier jewelry designer M&J Savitt, a Goddess Getaway for the winner and three friends to a tropical resort, and the chance to appear in a Gillette Venus razor commercial.
Venus Divine is Gillette's newest women's shaving system. Gillette Venus Divine Legs of a Goddess contests are taking place in 10 additional cities throughout the summer, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia, Chicago, Tampa, Miami, and Boston.
In each local event, one winner is selected to advance to the final selection for the grand prize. An additional finalist will be selected from mail-in entries. Women can enter by picking up a form at the Destination Venus Divine Station, which is touring the country this summer or by printing out an entry form from the website, which lists venues and cities, as well as footage from the New York City event with Hilary and Haylie Duff.
Hilary Duff, an actress and singer, has been seen in movies including Cheaper by the Dozen and Agent Cody Banks, and is currently starring in A Cinderella Story. Upcoming films include Perfect Man and Heart of Summer, opening later this year. She's also on tour this summer to promote her debut album, Metamorphosis.
Haylie Duff, also an actress and singer, is starring in the independent hit film Napoleon Dynamite. She is currently filming Dishdogz to be released in 2005. Haylie is also on tour this summer, opening for Hilary, and has her own album that will be released this fall.
