Grupo Kaltex, the largest textile and apparel manufacturer in Latin America, has chosen the EXceed family of warehouse management and supply chain execution solutions from EXE Technologies as the standard for management of its global distribution center operations.
EXceed solutions provide real-time, end-to-end solutions for supply chain execution applications - from the manufacturer of goods all the way to the retailer. Products and services include order fulfillment, warehousing, distribution and inventory management functions.
"Kaltex is a fully integrated manufacturer that makes its own yarns, fibers, fabrics, textiles and apparel for use in clothing, uniforms, home furnishings and special non-garment applications," explained Gabriel Mizrahi, Kaltex Logistics' chief executive officer. "We sell and distribute our broad range of products throughout Mexico, Central America, South America and Europe.
"In many ways Grupo Kaltex is its own complete supply chain, since we are both a manufacturer and distributor of textiles and apparel, so it's especially important that we maintain the highest level of supply chain execution so that our customers get the best service at the lowest cost to meet their business needs," he added. "We chose these solutions from EXE because of their clear understanding of our business needs as well as their experience in doing business in Mexico."
"Kaltex will be deploying several best-of-breed EXE solutions in their Kaltex Logistics operations for distribution of home and apparel products as well as fabrics," said Joe Cowan, EXE president and CEO. "These include our EXceed 4000 warehouse management system, our radio frequency (RF) server and our EXceed Billing modules."
Once these applications have been field proven at the Kaltex Logistics distribution center in Mexico City, they will be rolled out to other sites in Mexico, the United States and Central America, Mizrahi indicated.
"We have an excellent long term business relationship with Grupo Kaltex and our expertise at doing business in Latin America - specifically in Mexico - is a key element in our support of Grupo Kaltex's aggressive expansion plans," said Alejandro Nieto, EXE Managing Director of Latin America.
Based in Mexico, Grupo Kaltex is Latin America's largest textile and apparel manufacturer. The company is 100 percent Mexican owned and is vertically integrated as a producer of acrylic fibers, yarns, fabrics and apparel. Kaltex sells it many products to garment manufacturers, home furnishings makers, governments and non-garment users in industries such as tires and computers. The company has more than 8,000 employees and exports more than 30 percent of its production to Central America, South America and Europe.
