An array of winter recreation opportunities and ski-in-ski out lodging will be available to Tamarack visitors this winter season.

"Idaho has a history of being a leader in the ski industry, as far back as the establishment of Sun Valley as America's first destination ski resort," said Carl Wilgus, administrator, Idaho Tourism Division. "It's only fitting that we would continue that trend with North America's first, new all-season resort in more than 20 years."

Skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts will have access to 25 downhill runs via five lifts, including the Tamarack Express and Summit Express -- both high-speed detachable quads -- which will carry skiers and riders to Tamarack's 7,700-foot summit and provide a continuous 2,800-vertical-foot descent to the base area. The mix of terrain is suited for all skiers, boarders and families of varying abilities, as Tamarack offers what is considered in the industry a perfect mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs. And, for the freestylist, Tamarack features a 500-foot super pipe and terrain park, complete with jib yard -- among the first in the Pacific Northwest.

For the Nordic and back-country skier, Tamarack offers a full-service Nordic ski park, complete with 30 km of ski trails, 10 km of groomed snowshoe trails and hundreds of acres of back-country skiing. Nordic ski clinics and other Nordic special events are planned throughout the 2004-05 winter season.

"I knew it when I first skied Tamarack's outstanding Nordic system that this team would not accept anything less than world-class sports venues," said Lyle Nelson, four-time U.S. Olympic Biathlon team leader. "I'm excited for Idaho and for Idaho Olympians of tomorrow to help launch Tamarack Resort."

While the tradition-inspired, mixed-use Tamarack Village is starting to take shape with construction of the lodge, the Discovery Square at Tamarack will provide all of the winter recreation services needed at a luxury mountain resort. The Discovery Square features professional concierge services, three restaurants and an après ski pub, a specialty market and deli, a full-service ski and ride school, equipment rentals, club services, ski patrol, a children's center, and emergency medical services. The Discovery Square is built with sprung technology, allowing erection of all services in one summer and smooth transition to the permanent buildings as they become available.

This winter, 64 of Tamarack's resort-built mountain Chalets and Cottages, offering 200 rooms, will be available to rent at Tamarack Resort. These finely-appointed, ski-in, ski-out privately owned homes, are complemented by sophisticated concierge, recreation and catering services. These services offer visitors the fully developed luxurious mountain resort experience, which is a signature of Tamarack. Partner hotels in Valley County round out the offering. Package prices start at just $99 per person, per night, and include a daily "Discovery Pass" which enables guests to enjoy alpine skiing and boarding, Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing. Tamarack alpine ski and ride tickets range from $55 dollars a day for adults to $28 a day for children 7-17. Military personnel, seniors and college students receive discounted rates and children 6 years and under ski free. Season passes are available and range from $1,750 per family to $750 for adults and $380 for children 7-17. Nordic trail passes are $10 per day per person or $120 for the season.

Tamarack Resort has three spectacular crown jewels: a world-class ski mountain, a Robert Trent Jones II signature golf course and beautiful Lake Cascade, suitable for swimming, sailing, fishing, sea kayaking, and boating.
