3D Systems Corporation developed Accura 25 SL plastic -- a new, opaque, white, advanced engineered material that simulates the look and feel of molded polypropylene. Accura 25 plastic is designed for use on solid-state-equipped SLA systems.
"In today's fiercely competitive new product development environment, engineers and designers demand materials that mimic the characteristics and aesthetics of engineered plastics," said Abe Reichental of 3D Systems. "Accura 25 plastic provides the look and feel of molded polypropylene and delivers excellent accuracy, speed and shape-memory, making it suitable for functional prototypes as well as master patterns.
"The durability and flexibility of Accura 25 plastic makes it ideal for automotive and electronics applications. In the automotive industry, where polypropylene is commonly used, Accura 25 plastic is ideal for prototyping and design of trim components and fascia."
"In the electronics and consumer goods industry, Accura 25 plastic is a perfect match for the design and test of connectors, wiring harnesses, and enclosures," continued Reichental.
"Because its performance characteristics are similar to molded polypropylene, Accura 25 plastic can replace and displace today's customers' dependence on CNC-machined parts. Also, the superior speed, accuracy and detailed feature resolution of Accura 25 plastic makes it optimal for service providers who need a material that can be used for functional prototypes or master patterns."
"Accura 25 plastic is another significant step in providing our customers with solutions that reduce their time to market and improve the quality and value proposition of their products," said Reichental.
