MCC's Modular PC allows the end user to eliminate the need for multiple operating platforms and supporting multiple software licenses.
The Modular PC is not much larger than a deck of cards, measuring 3"x5"x3/4" and weighing approximately 9.1 ounces. The power supply, display, and I/O connectors have been removed. The CPU contains the processor, memory, data, and applications. Inside the Modular PC are a 1 Ghz processor, 512 RAM, and a 20 or 30 GB hard drive. Unlike many hand held computers, the Modular PC runs full Windows XP Professional. But the benefits don't stop with its portability.
High tech professionals demand flexibility and affordability in computing solutions, said president Klaus Genssler. "The Modular PC can replace the desktop, laptop and PDAs. The Modular PC is inserted into the micro tablet for mobile applications; the laptop shell for a laptop experience, and a desktop dock for a traditional desktop experience. The Modular PC is expandable and upgradeable. Time and money are saved by supporting only one operating system and no longer having to synchronize data from one device to another," states Genssler.
