InphoMatch has signed an agreement with Vodafone that enables Vodafone customers to exchange international SMS text messages with subscribers of participating non-GSM networks utilizing InphoMatch's inter-carrier mobile messaging platform.
Vodafone customers across Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom will be able to use the service beginning in early 2004. Vodafone intends to extend the service to other properties during 2004.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for InphoMatch, taking us to the next stage in our maturity and development while firmly establishing us as the global leader in the inter-carrier mobile messaging market," said Neville Street, Chief Executive Officer of InphoMatch, Inc. "The addition of Vodafone, the world's largest mobile carrier, marks a watershed step in enabling ubiquitous global text messaging."
Vodafone joins InphoMatch's global inter-carrier network that spans four continents -- North America, South America, Europe and Asia -- and 31 countries including the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore and the Philippines.
