CSR is making its chipsets available for use with the Symbian OS. By integrating CSR's BlueCore host software with the Bluetooth software stack of Symbian OS, CSR can offer Symbian's licensees a quick and efficient route to Bluetooth-enabled mobile handsets.
Symbian develops and licenses Symbian OS, the global industry standard operating system for advanced mobile phones, to the world's leading handset manufacturers, which account for over 80 per cent of worldwide annual mobile phone sales. Support for Bluetooth was designed into Symbian's core platform from the outset. This move provides tighter integration between CSR's Bluetooth host software and the Symbian OS, reducing Symbian OS licensees' time to integrate CSR's Bluetooth solution into their designs. CSR's BlueCore silicon is already in use in over 60 percent of v1.1 qualified Bluetooth products on the market.
