telic.net, a developer of hosted solutions for voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) enhanced services, announced that it has successfully tested interoperability of its real time billing and softswitching platform with coaXmedia's next generation product, the Series 7000 system.
The Series 7000 is a hardware/software platform that makes it easy to offer high-speed Internet and VoIP access to hotel guests and apartment residents using existing in-building coaxial cable. The system is slated for initial release in the fourth quarter of 2003.
The certification by telic of coaXmedia's system assures service providers and businesses that there are affordable, feature-rich solutions for VoIP deployments according to Eric Hernaez, president and founder of telic.
"We are delighted to add coaXmedia to the list of equipment manufacturers we support," said Hernaez. "Delivering bandwidth economically to hotels and condominiums is a challenge for the VoIP industry. coaXmedia has a unique solution to the problem."
"telic's hosted softswitching and real-time billing solution makes it easy for service providers to roll out VoIP deployments. The features and affordability of their hosted platform is a great complement to the value we deliver with our solutions," said Dan Seitam, chief executive officer and co-founder of coaXmedia. "We are in the final phase of beta-testing of our VoIP product and our certification with telic will enable us to gain market traction quickly in our initial rollout during the fourth quarter."
