World's Largest Lip Balm - Yenra

Importance of protecting lips

World's Largest Lip Balm - the size of 17,538 regular-sized lip balms - demonstrated by former ski instructor during Olympics.

Former ski-instructor Brady Anderton will demonstrate the importance of protecting lips against the elements by unveiling and using the world's largest lip balm in Sandy, Utah on February 13, 2002.

Anderton is a founder and chief executive officer of Symbiosis, Inc., manufacturers of Chap-Grip, lip balm on a leash. The record-breaking balm is a working replica of the company's Chap-Grip product, complete with neoprene holder and hook. The amount of balm in the giant Chap-Grip would fill 17,538 regular-sized lip balms.

"We decided to make the world's largest lip balm because we wanted to give our customers kissable lips for Valentine's Day and to protect lips across Utah during the 2002 Winter Olympics," said Anderton.

Utah's dry, cold climate quickly chaps unprotected lips, making protective lip balms especially important said Anderton, who used record amounts of balm as a ski instructor as a ski instructor at Deer Valley five years ago. It was all the balm they lost on the slopes that inspired Anderton and brother Jeff to come up with Chap-Grip, a balm that would always be there.

"We want to remind people how important it is to protect their lips during our 50+ city 2002 Chap-Grip Tour, and the world's largest lip balm is a great way to capture attention and raise awareness," said Anderton.

Over 17 gallons of raw lip balm ingredients, including petrolatum, mineral oil, beeswax and other wax bases, coconut oil, tocopheryl acetate, saccharin, flavoring, and coloring were used to make the lip balm. The lip balm tube is 3 1/2 feet high by 1 foot in diameter.

Previous to this giant Chap-Grip, there were no recorded records for world's largest lip Balm. Symbiosis is in the process of registering the balm with the Guinness Book of World Records.

The world's largest lip balm will be unveiled at the Sandy Wal-Mart, 10425 S. State Street, at 9:00 AM. It will then go to Park City's Wal-Mart at 6525 N. Landmark Drive.

The world's largest lip balm will then visit 50+ cities including: Albuquerque, Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boise, Boston, Boulder, Charlotte, Cheyenne, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Des Moines, Detroit, Eugene, Flagstaff, Ft. Worth, Greensboro, Green Bay, Hartford, Houston, Indianapolis, Jackson, Jackson Hole, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Lancing, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Memphis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Modesto, Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Newark, New Orleans, New York, Oakland, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Pocatello, Portland, Providence, Raleigh, Reno, Richmond, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Fe, Seattle, St. George, St. Louis, Tampa, Tucson, Ventura, and Washington D.C.
