Perry Videx Appointed Worldwide Sales Agent for Beloit Corporation's 10.5m Paper Machines

Perry Videx will serve as the exclusive worldwide sales agent to sell the equipment, systems, components and documentation associated with the last world class paper machines built by the Beloit Corporation.

As a result of contractual disputes between Beloit and its customer, paper machine projects No 811 and 812, built in 1997, were never installed. The systems were specifically designed to produce 1463 metric tons per day of high quality fine paper from market pulp.

"These machines were built to be the finest in the world, absolute state of the art," said David Goodman, a Perry Videx Vice President in charge of the project.

In addition to Beloit's proprietary supply (stock preparation systems, headbox, former, press section, size press, drying sections, winders and reel), major suppliers participating in the system supply included Kusters, Nash, Ahlstrom, Andritz, ABB Flakt.

The sale of these assets will also include extremely detailed documentation including process engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and, in some cases, detailed machinery engineering and manufacturing drawings and specifications. Perry Videx will be selling these assets "as is, where is", and it is anticipated that the original OEM vendors will be available to participate with normal mechanical and process warrantees as well as certain field services as appropriate. Major pulp and paper engineering companies have also indicated their desires to participate in any project involving these assets.

In 1997, the total price of one system with supply comparable to Beloit's PM811 and PM812 would approach $150 million. "Engineering documentation alone is currently valued in excess of $20 million," said Mr. Goodman. "One of our customers will buy this equipment, which when installed will give them a major cost advantage over the competition."
