X70 balances high quality design and smart functions

Camera Phone

Panasonic Mobile Communications introduces its latest digital camera phone, the X70. It combines an elegant clamshell design with a superb 65,536 color TFT display, built-in digital camera with Photo Light, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), Bluetooth, 4MB of internal memory and polyphonic ringtones. Shipments for the European market are scheduled to begin this autumn.

Mr. Ken Hatano, Director of the Marketing Group at Panasonic Mobile Communications in Europe, says: "The X70 will be a strong contender in the increasingly popular mobile camera phone market and follows on from the highly successful GD87 phone. Its technical functionality and stylish design, reaffirms Panasonic's status as one of the world's leading manufacturers for mobile phone technology."

The X70's large 65,536 color Thin Film Transistor (TFT) display screen means the user will experience sharper and clearer pictures than ever before. In addition, its built-in digital camera has a Photo Light to assist when taking pictures in dark conditions. Combine this with the X70's zoom, picture editing capabilities and mirror for self-portraits, and the end result will speak for itself.

Images can be saved in JPEG and PNG file types and with 4MB of internal memory, users will have room to store up to 400 photos at once.

The X70 supports MMS, email and Bluetooth so the user can send their pictures to a PC or an MMS enabled phone. The user can even assign a photo to a number within their phonebook so that it pops up every time that person calls. With Bluetooth the user will also have the opportunity to take advantage of wirefree connectivity when using a Bluetooth handsfree headset or when connecting remotely through their laptop.

As well as being packed with advanced features, the X70 is 20 per cent smaller than its predecessor, the GD87. Measuring 87x47x23.9mm and weighing only 92 grams, the X70's clamshell design combines style and elegance. It has a sub display on the front of the clamshell with six different color backlights and the option to display an analog or digital clock.

As if the X70's camera and messaging capabilities weren't enough, it also has a 16-tone polyphonic ringer, to make the user's favorite tunes come alive, with the option to download further ring tones from Panasonic's own Content website Panasonic Box. Voice recognition, a desktop handsfree facility, voice memo, GPRS, WAP, plus a choice of up to 4 exciting games, make the X70 one of the most technically functional phones on the market.
