Three of Palace Resorts' recently purchased resorts in Mexico have been renamed and will undergo extensive refurbishments and renovations to open in time for the holidays.
The new hotels in the Palace Resorts portfolio are Playacar Palace, previously Hotel Continental Plaza Playacar; Cozumel Palace, formerly Hotel Plaza Las Glorias Cozumel; and Vallarta Palace, the former Hotel Sierra Nuevo Vallarta.
Playacar Palace and Cozumel Palace close for renovations on August 29th and will reopen on December 24, 2004; Vallarta Palace will remain open during its renovation period.
"We are thrilled to add these properties to our portfolio of quality resorts and offer our clients a new selection of properties in new and exciting destinations," said Roberto Chapur, president of Palace Resorts.
Playacar Palace, with 220 rooms, is set on one of the most beautiful beaches on the Yucatan Peninsula in the picturesque town of Playacar. A golfer's favorite, the resort is located just steps from Palace's renowned Robert Von Hagge's Golf Course at Playacar, and near the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Cancun. Playacar Palace's lobby, pool, and common areas will be renovated, and Jacuzzis will be added to all rooms.
Cozumel Palace is a diver's paradise, offering snorkeling and diving right off its beach. The renovations to this 174-room resort include the incorporation of Jacuzzis in all rooms, and renovations of the lobby, pool, and common areas to create a beautiful combination of spacious colonial design with touches of contemporary Mexican decor. Guests staying at Cozumel Palace will have exchange privileges to visit other Palace Resorts properties in the Riviera Maya and Cancun.
On Mexico's West Coast, Vallarta Palace has 362 rooms, and is nestled against the Sierra Madre Mountains on the spectacular Banderas Bay in the heart of Nuevo Vallarta, a magical colonial fishing village with quaint cobblestone streets and terracotta rooftops. Vallarta Palace's common areas are being refurbished. Its meeting facilities will be expanded and all of the ocean view rooms will feature a double Jacuzzi.
All-inclusive packages at Palace Resorts include luxurious accommodations, taxes and gratuities, all meals and snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, non-motorized water sports, nightly entertainment and tours. Golf packages are available at all resorts; wedding packages are available at selected resorts.
Palace Resorts offers ten resorts in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Cozumel, and Nuevo Vallarta.
