Licorice Root
Licorice has been used medicinally since 500 B.C. Originally in the Mediterranean and the Middle East and has been cultivated in Europe since at least the 16th century. In China, it was called the great deoxifer and was thought to drive poisons from the system. It is also an important tonic, often called the grandfather of herbs. Licorice is a perennial plant found wild in southern and central Europe and Asia.
