Shauna Fleming, 15, a freshman at Lutheran High School in Orange, California, takes calls from U.S. Troops stationed in Iraq on her A Million Thanks Show, prepares for her next broadcast. wsRadio.com provides Internet talk radio with live shows that are also archived on their website for later listening.
Shauna has embarked on an ambitious campaign to send one million letters in support of the troops overseas. To date she has collected nearly 800,000 letters toward this goal.
Shauna has been making numerous appearances in the national media, adding her own Internet talk show to help get the message out. "A Million Thanks Radio with host Shauna Fleming," premiered on June 17th. The show is produced and broadcast around the globe by San Diego Internet radio Network wsRadio.com. A Million Thanks Radio streams live via the Internet and is archived for listening on demand 24/7.
A Million Thanks Radio also reaches the troops overseas who have Internet access and audio capabilities. Since airing her first show, Shauna has received feedback from the troops overseas. To combat boredom, the troops have requested music CDs and DVDs. In response to that feedback, Shauna wasted no time in collecting used music CDs and DVDs to send along with the letters.
On July 24th, Shauna will do a special A Million Thanks Rally remote broadcast at San Diego Harley Davidson from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. PDT. Some of the shows guests will include local San Diego troops.
Each letter is screened and bundled by her main volunteers from Lutheran High School. The campaign continues to build momentum through the Internet.
