Singer/actress Christina Vidal has signed with MCA Records and has already begun recording her debut album, tentatively set for a fall 2002 release.
The star of the hit Nickelodeon series "Taina," Christina will also be featured prominently on the remix of Will Smith's Black Suits Comin' called "Nod Ya Head - The Remix," the lead single from the upcoming film "Men In Black II" and the forthcoming Will Smith album Born To Reign (Columbia Records). Christina not only performs on the single, but also stars in the Francis Lawrence-directed video, which premieres on the B.E.T. show "106th & Park" on Thursday June 20th.
For Christina's debut album, the singer will work with a cross-section of top-flight songwriters and producers, including The Underdogs, Wade Robson, J Valentine, and Steve Morales. Christina herself will also have a hand in writing several songs for the album.
Born in New York City of Puerto Rican heritage, Christina Vidal has been acting and singing since toddlerhood. She got her first break when she co-starred with Michael J. Fox in the 1993 film "Life With Mikey." She also co-starred in the critically-acclaimed "Welcome to the Dollhouse" (1995) and the network TV series "Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher." For the past two seasons, she has played the title role in Nickelodeon's "Taina," portraying Taina Morales, a young Puerto Rican student attending a New York music and arts high school. The role has allowed Christina to display her talents as an actress and singer, and has brought her legions of fans across the country.
