Bridal Shower Games: Three Original Activities and a Printable Pack - Yenra

Choose three original bridal shower activities with complete rules, optional scoring, inclusive hosting and a four-page printable pack.

Blank player sheets, pencils, teal counters and a small hourglass on an ivory table.
Keep the host answer key separate and offer each activity as an invitation.

Choose one or two bridal shower games that are easy to explain, comfortable to join and simple to finish. These three original activities work around a table, use ordinary paper and pencils, and give the host complete rules instead of a shopping list of game ideas.

Start with the group

Ask the guest of honor whether games sound enjoyable and what kind of atmosphere they prefer. Offer observing, working with a partner or simply chatting as equally welcome choices. For a wedding shower with several honorees, use everyone's preferred names and agree who receives any written keepsakes.

Have the printed instructions available while explaining them aloud. Offer a larger text copy, a reader or a scribe if someone would find that useful. Let people stay seated, use a device to write, or answer verbally to a partner. Agree any photographs before taking them.

These are suggested hosting slots, not measured guarantees. Test the instructions with a helper and allow the group more time when useful. You can run every activity cooperatively, with no prizes or rankings.

1. Tabletop clues

Prepare: give each person or team the six clues and this word bank: candle, envelope, bookmark, napkin, ribbon, vase. Each word is used once. Keep the answer key with the host.

  1. I hold a small bunch of flowers in water.
  2. I save your place between the pages of a book.
  3. I carry a paper message tucked inside me.
  4. I am a narrow strip that can be tied into a bow.
  5. I am the piece of cloth or paper placed on a lap at a meal.
  6. I have a wick surrounded by wax.

Play: explain the word bank, then offer about three minutes to match the clues. Invite questions about the rules. Partners may discuss answers; spelling does not affect the result. This is a word activity and requires none of the objects themselves.

Finish: read the answers in order: vase, bookmark, envelope, ribbon, napkin, candle. If scoring, award one point per correct match, with six possible points. Highest score wins; all tied highest scores share the win. Have enough small prizes to share, or use applause for everyone.

2. Choices in common

Prepare: pair willing participants and give each person a sheet with five either/or prompts: seaside or woodland; puzzle or sketch; music or quiet; sunrise or sunset; reading or a film. These are imagined preferences, with no actual outing or purchase required.

Play: each person privately circles one choice in each pair before comparing sheets. Allow about two minutes to choose and three to compare. Partners then choose one answer they would enjoy discussing; either person may pass on explaining a preference. For an odd number, the host can partner with someone, or a group of three can discuss without scoring.

Finish: invite each pair to share one discovery if they wish. Optional scoring gives the pair one point for each matching choice, up to five. Skipped prompts score zero. Tied highest-scoring pairs share the win; there is no tiebreaker involving personal questions. In the cooperative version, simply see what the pair has in common.

3. One good day

Prepare: provide the original prompts below and an envelope for the couple. This is a shared activity with no score or winner.

  • A free or low-cost way to spend an hour together could be...
  • On an ordinary evening, you might enjoy...
  • One small kindness you could offer each other is...

Play: invite guests to complete any or all prompts, sign only if they wish, and leave private subjects out. Allow about four minutes. Suggestions are gifts of ideas, with no obligation for the couple to carry them out.

Finish: guests choose whether to read a suggestion aloud, place it in the envelope or keep it. Give the collected sheets to the honorees after the activity. Ask their permission before sharing the contents publicly.

Print once, then make the copies you need

Download the four-page shower games pack (PDF). Page 1 is the host's rules and answer key; pages 2–4 are player sheets. Print the host page once and copy only the activities you choose. Use single-sided printing so answers stay separate. The sheets use US Letter pages; choose Fit when printing on A4 and check one copy first.

For a 30-minute activity window, a possible plan is five minutes to welcome and explain, six for clues, eight for choices, six for suggestions and five for transitions. Stop early if conversation is flowing. For broader optional-party planning and private budget agreements, see the pre-wedding party host guide.
