Capture case at equal output has 1,200 tonnes entering capture. 90% capture = 1,080 tonnes captured and 120 released there. Another 80 tonnes emitted elsewhere inside the assumed boundary. All captured CO2 is assumed verified stored. Project emissions = 120 + 80 = 200 tonnes. Avoided = 1,000 - 200 = 800 tonnes, or 80% of reference. These are invented values. A real lifecycle calculation must include corresponding reference upstream emissions, all project streams, other greenhouse gases, losses, uncertainty and the same output service. State CO2 versus CO2-equivalent units and the chosen time horizon.
