FICTIONAL EXAMPLE - pounds; conventional trailer, no weight-distributing hitch
Ratings: coach GVWR 26,000; front GAWR 10,000; rear GAWR 17,500; GCWR 33,000; hitch gross 10,000; hitch tongue 1,000.
Uncoupled coach 24,000 + complete trailer 8,000 = 32,000.
Trailer tongue 800; trailer axles 7,200.
Coupled coach front 8,400 + rear 16,400 = 24,800.
Combination 24,800 + 7,200 = 32,000, leaving 1,000 under GCWR.
Coach remaining 1,200; front 1,600; rear 1,100; hitch gross 2,000; hitch tongue 200.
Combination-only allowance: 33,000 - 24,000 = 9,000 complete trailer weight. A 10,000 trailer makes 34,000, exceeding GCWR by 1,000 despite matching the gross hitch rating.
These figures are not Super Nova or other model ratings. Tire/wheel, side-to-side, trailer, equipment and braking checks remain separate.
