INVENTED ARTICLE EXAMPLE - lb and U.S. gallons
Trailer GVWR 10000; starting weight 7400 includes installed equipment,
battery and propane; fresh/waste tanks empty for this example only.
Bikes 500 + tools 350 + camping 250 + water (60 x 8.3 = 498) = 1598.
Loaded trailer estimate: 7400 + 1598 = 8998. GVWR remainder: 1002.
Truck payload allowance 1800; occupants 500 + truck cargo 250 + added
hitch equipment 100 + measured vertical hitch load 1050 = 1900.
Payload exceeds allowance by 100. Revise and verify the complete plan.
This example establishes no axle, hitch, or combination compliance and
prescribes no target tongue-weight percentage. Do not double-count hitch
load when combining scale readings with total trailer weight.
