# Java application portability matrix

Guide: https://yenra.com/novell-extend-server-java-verified/
Purpose: record evidence for one application move. This worksheet is an initial acceptance aid, not a certification result.

## Baseline
- Application build ID and source revision:
- Source server/version/profile/JDK:
- Target server/version/profile/JDK:
- Compatibility documentation URLs:
- Test data and schema revision:

## Dependency record (repeat for each dependency)
- Category: APIs / libraries / database / transactions / JNDI / security / configuration / external service
- Expected contract:
- Source configuration:
- Target configuration:
- Test and expected result:
- Observed result and evidence location:
- Status: pass / fail / unknown
- Owner and next action:

Record credential locations, never credential values.

## Initial acceptance sequence
1. Startup and required resource resolution.
2. Read with expected result.
3. Write with confirmed commit.
4. Forced failure with confirmed rollback.
5. Allowed action and denied action using separate test users.
6. Dependency timeout and safe retry behavior.
7. Restart and required persistence checks.

For each test record time, environment, input, expected/actual response, expected/actual stored state and evidence. Add application-specific load, clustering, messaging or failover tests as required.

## Decision
- Remaining unknowns and unacceptable differences:
- Additional tests required:
- Rollback procedure and verification:
- Reviewer and date:

Fictional example: the application expects jdbc/Orders but the destination binds jdbc/OrderDB. Fix the documented resource mapping, then retest reads and commit/rollback behavior.
