MEMS Laser Scanning: Connect Mirror Motion to Barcode Reads — working record Yenra | October 3, 2026 https://yenra.com/mems/laser.html Purpose: Explain MEMS beam steering and define a barcode-scanning comparison using representative targets, distances, motion and read outcomes. Instructions: Make a working copy. Fill the fields below with actual evidence and units. Record unavailable information as unknown, give it an owner, and resolve it before using the record for acceptance. Keep raw evidence by reference. Use the approved method, equipment limits and acceptance rules for your application. This blank record does not establish qualification. 1. Fictional checks: 500 x 0.08 = 40 sweeps; 980/1000 = 98% on-time Response / evidence reference: ______________________________ 10. Approved configuration; limits; unresolved findings; reviewer Response / evidence reference: ______________________________ Teaching example (fictional; not acceptance criteria): Fictional scan-window calculation A target remains in the usable region for 0.08 seconds. A stated rate of 500 scans per second suggests 500 × 0.08 = 40 nominal sweeps during that window, if the rate applies continuously to the defined scan pattern. It does not imply 40 complete or independent decoding attempts. Orientation, trigger timing, trajectory and signal quality determine which sweeps are useful. Measure correct reads within the window directly.
