General method:
Total = bid + actual buyer fee + actual tax + all other costs.
Recalculate using the event's fee tiers and minimums. Obtain an invoice
estimate if the tax base or fee treatment is unclear.

FICTIONAL FLAT-FEE EXAMPLE (NOT AN ACTUAL AUCTION SCHEDULE)
Budget $30,000.
Inspection $500; transport $1,500; repairs $2,000; uncertainty $1,000.
Other-cost allowance total = $5,000.
Assume 10% fee on bid and 6% tax on bid plus fee.
Total = bid x 1.10 x 1.06 + $5,000 = bid x 1.166 + $5,000.
Ceiling = ($30,000 - $5,000) / 1.166 = $21,440.82.
With $500 increments, choose a limit of $21,000:
$21,000 + $2,100 fee + $1,386 tax + $5,000 = $29,486.
At $21,500, total = $30,069, which exceeds the budget.
