FUEL-CELL CHP COMPARISON WORKSHEET Yenra | Updated September 17, 2026 Article: https://yenra.com/direct-fuel-cell-power-plants/ Purpose: compare useful electricity and heat at a consistent facility boundary. Start with interval demand data and supplier documentation. Keep all fuel inputs on the same HHV or LHV basis. Repeat over representative intervals; sum energies for an annual result. Facility / interval / supplier / exact system / document date: Fuel input in the interval (kWh, state HHV or LHV): Net useful AC electricity after specified auxiliaries (kWh): Recoverable heat and required temperature / pressure: Heat actually used by the facility in the interval (kWh): Electrical efficiency = net electricity / fuel input x 100 (%): Total useful-energy efficiency = (net electricity + useful heat) / fuel input x 100 (%): Annual service, maintenance, degradation and downtime assumptions: Alternative electricity and heat supply and costs: Emissions boundary, fuel assumptions and comparison evidence: Outage support requirements and evidence: Supplier commitments / unresolved questions / responsible owner: Fictional example: 1,000 kWh HHV input, 450 kWh electricity and 300 kWh used heat give 45% electrical and 75% total efficiency. With 100 kWh used heat, total efficiency is 55%. Rejected heat is excluded. These are invented quantities, not product ratings.
