PCM payload bytes = sample rate x bits x channels x seconds / 8.
Illustrative example: 48,000 x 24 x 2 x 5,400 / 8 = 1,555,200,000 bytes (1.56 decimal GB).
Original plus one copy: 3.11 GB. Allow extra space. Compressed formats need their actual
bitrate.
