On July 10, 2008, Nexxus Lighting announced that its Advanced Lighting Systems subsidiary completed a cove lighting project for the six story Elements Building, housing 7Stones Spas and Strega Restaurant in downtown Corvallis, Oregon. The Elements Building is silver-level LEED certified.
Advanced Lighting’s eLum Cove RGB lighting was used throughout all 3 levels of the spa and the 2 upper levels for the bar and restaurant.
Strega Restaurant, a sustainable restaurant and bar on the 5th and 6th floors, made extensive use of the cove lighting for both decorative and ambient lighting. A star lit ceiling on a cantilevered overhang can be seen for blocks around. Fiber optics were also used in the showers and steam rooms for the day spa, where this type of fixture works well due to the lack of electrical components.
