Microsoft Excel integrated with enterprise apps for real-time business reporting

Juice Software announced today that it has been named a Microsoft Business Solutions ISV partner. Juice will provide solutions that complement Great Plains developed by Microsoft Business Solutions, a leading provider of business applications designed to help small and mid-market businesses become more connected to customers, employees, partners and suppliers.

Juice integrates Microsoft Excel with enterprise systems for real-time business reporting, bi-directional data collaboration, and automated decision support. The Juice solution supplements Microsoft Great Plains applications, such as human resources, manufacturing, financial, project and supply chain management, by providing clear visibility into the health of customers' businesses.

Without complex programming or costly training, corporate executives and line-of-business managers can now capture, analyze and monitor their business within Excel by using Microsoft Great Plains and Juice seamlessly together. Juice's two-way integration with Great Plains, as well as other structured and unstructured data sources, generates real-time business reports complete with audit trails in the familiar Excel interface.

A lightweight Excel application for the desktop, Juice communicates through XML messaging to a central server, unlocking the true potential of Excel with bi-directional, real-time data gathering and access. The Juice Server maintains a library of live data sources that can be queried and updated directly through Excel. Juice accesses data sources such as relational databases; enterprise applications, financial feeds, Web-based providers, OLAP cubes; and other spreadsheets. Web Services support provides out-of-the-box, code-free integration with .NET and J2EE systems, leveraging the W3C's XML, SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI standards.

"Juice is a natural fit with Great Plains because we embrace and present vital enterprise information to executives for confident and quick decisions," said Eric Yau, CEO of Juice Software. "Creating a native computing experience, Juice optimizes business reporting for Great Plains applications with data integrity, timeliness, accessibility and security."

"We are pleased to have Juice Software join the ranks of Microsoft Business Solutions ISV partners," said Don Nelson, general manager of channel development for Microsoft Business Solutions. "Juice Software's extensive experience in Excel integration and business reporting will provide our joint customers with increased functionality and will maximize the return on their investment."
