17-year-old Hannah Moderow of Anchorage, Alaska, commands a team of sled dogs in preparation for her first entry in the January 26 International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race and a chance at the $100,000 purse. The dog-friendly race is conducted in stages, with mushers and their teams stopping in different Wyoming towns nightly, covering nearly 500 miles in 11 days.
