Yamaha will support the boating industry's multi-million dollar Grow Boating marketing campaign launching this spring. The campaign is the first time that marine products manufacturers are joining together to promote the benefits of recreational boating and boat ownership.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association's Grow Boating campaign is a $12 million spend that includes national advertising buys, direct mail, and other initiatives that the industry hopes will connect with potential boaters.

"Our goal is to make the two best days in a boater's life every Saturday and Sunday," said Thom Dammrich, president of the National Marine Manufacturers Association, during a presentation at the Miami International Boat Show.

Yamaha is a major voice behind the industry's Grow Boating campaign. Yamaha is optimistic that the money spent will further the strategies the company launched internally, to make boating more attractive for families.

"We are gratified to support the industry as it moves toward promoting the boating lifestyle to a diverse range of people," said Yamaha WaterCraft's Mark Speaks. "We've honed our product line around the benefits of family fun on the water, and have enjoyed strong sales growth as a result. Now as the industry joins forces around this common goal, the prospects increase for growing this exciting and dynamic marketplace for everyone."

65 million Americans go boating annually and 28 million Americans ride personal watercraft.
